Independents’ Week 2015 is a campaign that runs annually throughout July to highlight the important role smaller, local, independent retailers play in the communities they serve, the local economy they contribute to, and in the retail sector as a whole. This year Independents’ Week will run from the 4th – 12th July.
It's a fact that by shopping in local businesses, you are directly putting money back in to the local economy. We feel this is very important for our community, and where we can, like to shop with indie companies too. Its a real joy to see established indie stores evolving, moving in to bigger premises and growing their brand. It invigorates the city, and offers a diversity of products to tourists and locals.
If you go down to Bridge Street today, you will be sure of a big surprise! We have had so much fun dressing our picnic themed window, to encourage everyone to take some healthy food in to the surrounding area, and enjoy our fare al fresco. We are so lucky to have great open spaces and the river nearby, but can also accommodate customers who wish to enjoy this type of food on our premises.
Especially for Independents' Week, we are offering our customers a little complimentary sweet treat when they purchase some food for a picnic. http://www.cambridgebid.co.uk/events/independents-week-2015/mini-sweet-treats-bridges/ We truly hope that the Independents' Week event will encourage appreciation of the quirky small businesses we have in our city.
